I have never had any particular problems with modems on Linux, but it doesn't always set /dev/modem. Sometimes, you have to figure out which tty it gets assigned to. Do "ls -l /dev/ttyS*" to figure out which one it gets. Then, you have to use a PPP client (I assume that that's what you're using). See http://www.ubuntugeek.com/setting-up-dial-up-connection-in-ubuntu.html for ideas how to do this. > sorry i didn't make it to yer BBQ. > would like to say i had bigger fish to fry but you guys dont eat fish, right;?> > (gratuitous vegan joke;-) Ha. > happy solstice 2 U & noelle!!
