Perhaps interestingly, our landline phone service is provided by our
internet provider. So, if my internet goes down, our phone also goes
down, and vice-versa. (Just FYI: we have plain ol' telephone service
(POTS), not a voice-over-IP-style phone service like Comcast, Charter, and
other ISPs provide.)
