Re: Robert was wondering about house check-ups

Elie,

I'll probably stop by your place some time this coming week to drop off
a key to the house.

You don't have to come into the house if you don't want. It is not
necessary to come every day -- you can check every few days. I'll pay you
$25 for each day you check out the house. When we get back, I'll give you
a check or pay you in cash or, if you have a paypal account, we can send
you a payment via paypal.

If you do want to go into the house, the doors are a bit tricky:

 * For the back door, after locking both the bolt lock and the handle
   lock, you need to push the door outward (away from the house, towards
   the back yard) to make sure the handle lock "clicks" closed; otherwise,
   only the bolt lock will keep it shut.
 * The front door bolt lock needs to be locked before the handle lock;
   otherwise, you will be unable to lock the bolt lock.

I also recommend, to avoid accidentally locking yourself out, that you
lock the handle locks first using the key before locking the bolt locks.

I'll be locking the fence door using a combination lock, to discourage
thieves. You can call us at our cell phone if you need the combination to
open the fence door.

We'll be leaving the car in the driveway. The porch lights are left on
(they are light-sensitive and turn on only during the day or when it's
cloudy).  The radio stereo and a few lights will be on electric timers;
please leave on all radios and lights and do not turn any of them off.

Also, Noelle thinks we'll be receiving political literature on our door
step, stuck into the screen door and door, and possibly in our mail box.
You can throw it all away.

Why do you want this page removed?
