I'm not sure how to do this with Ubuntu. On Debian, it's a "server"
configuration -- it doesn't give you a window system, just a console.

Maybe search for "ubuntu server"??

You should always be able to get jove via apt-get. If it doesn't work,
then either you aren't connected to the internet or your CD/DVD doesn't
have it.

Re: me installing it. It just couldn't be this hard. Are you available
on Monday? We could SKype and I could help you do the install, if that
would help.

P.S. I'm typing this on this old So_ny laptop I got for $125 when I was
laid of running Debian outside at Esalen.
