Thanks for the tips!  I'll try out of a few of these and see what works.

I hear ya about the friends being busy with their kids.  It was a huge 
mistake for me to take a job in a rural area like this; the only way to 
have friends is to start a family and hang out with others who have 
kids.   At least Mark & DeAndra are 2 hours away.
