Well, I've run into several hardware problems with my laptop:
1) The external keyboard and mouse sometimes just freeze; sometimes if one
or the other locks up, I can unfreeze it moving it or typing.
2) The external display won't go into stand-by mode, so I must shut it off
by hand.
Other software-y problems:
3) I haven't found a way to disable storing stuff in the Sent folder in
Evolution (the default mailer).
4) I cannot customize the cursor color in gnome-terminal.
There was a Wall Street Journal opinion page about Ubuntu:
http://online.wsj.com/public/article/SB118963540721725614-FnJzx_wcNlkRFOef4cgq74PBW3g_20080912.html
which describes some other problems. I hardly use the multimedia
features, so I don't really notice these problems.
