"They" say that only 5000 jobs in all of Ca were created this last
month.  So, job creation here is definitely dragging.

OTOH, I have been getting more calls from recruiters, which probably means
things are picking up somewhat.

The east coast, especially Wash DC, is doing better right now.  Bad timing
on my part :-(.
