SSSCA -- free software needs to continue!

I am a frequent user of free software, software that is legally
distributed with source code and freely modifiable. Many companies are
also users of such software and depend heavily upon it. If the SSSCA were
to pass, such free software (as distributed under the GNU Public License
(GPL), a license ensuring the continued freedom of the software) would
become illegal. Such action would imminently cripple many such companies
and ultimately put them out of business.

Microsoft seeks the complete elimination of free software, all software
distributed under the terms of the GPL. GNU/Linux is an operating system
distributed under the GPL. It is the plan of Microsoft to create a total
monopoly of their operating system by eliminating it one serious
competitor: GNU/Linux. By passing the SSSCA, Microsoft would assume a
complete monopoly since it will be the sole distributor of operating
systems running on Intel-based PCs. Such a monopoly would be terrible for
consumers.

I urge you to reject the SSSCA and any legislation similar to it to keep
competition alive and well in America.
