Derek, Mark's machine is using an NE2000 compatible. The ethernet card is being recognized and it's been "netconfig"-ed, but hasn't used this ethernet card to connect to any other computer. (ping to itself works.) When the machine tries the "pump", it just sits there and eventually times out. None of the lights on the cable modem blink. Would it help to try to run a tcpdump during the period when it's hung? If not, is there any other way to see if "pump" is properly negotiating an IP address with the DHCP server? Thanks. > From: "Mark Reimers" <http://www.rcn.com/~mreimers> > Date: Tue, 16 Jan 2001 15:46:24 -0500 > > -----Original Message----- > From: Derek Atkins <http://www.MIT.EDU/~warlord> > To: Mark Reimers <http://www.rcn.com/~mreimers> > Date: Tuesday, January 16, 2001 3:14 PM > > >"Mark Reimers" <http://www.rcn.com/~mreimers> writes: > > > >> Derek, > >> thanks for your response.
