laplink & trials

I seem to be unable to get the laplink you sent to work.  It seems to
successfully get hold of COM1 after I boot up DOS.  I started an LLRAW
(LapLink Remote Access with Wire) on my palmtop.  I tried changing the baud
rate to various numbers and none seem to work.  (I cannot change the baud
rate on the palmtop; the [brief] documentation doesn't say what baud rate it's
set at.)

Do you think I'll need to purchase the latest version of LapLink for this
to work?
