Subject: If I need to reinstall DragonDictate, how can I save my voice
file so I won't lose all my training?
Product: DragonDictate for Windows
Version:
Description:
If I need to reinstall DragonDictate, how can I save my voice file so
I won't lose all my training?
Solution:
On your system, you have a directory for DragonDictate (called DDWIN..
by default) in either File Manager or Windows Explorer. In that
directory, there is a "yellow folder" that has your user name next to
it. That is your voice file (it contains two sub-folders called
"current" and "backup").
If you need to reinstall DragonDictate, copy (or Move) this folder
with your user name to a directory outside the DDWINxx directory, for
example a "Temp" directory that you might have. After you have
copied/moved your voice file, check to make sure that it's present in
the directory you copied/moved it to. Then, reinstall DragonDictate
following the appropriate procedures.
Once DragonDictate has been reinstalled, copy (not Move) your voice
file back into the "new" DDWINxx directory before you start
DragonDictate. Your voice file(s) will automatically be detected by
DragonDictate the first time you start the program.
