Software Development Conference and Expo Confirmation

Your Exhibits Only Pass registration has been confirmed. Your receipt is
available.

Thank you for your registration to attend the Software Development
Conference and Expo (SD) November 18-22, 2002 at the Hynes Convention
Center!

SD East 2002 registration also entitles you to attend the Embedded Systems
Conference Boston's exhibit floor which is running concurrently to SD East
at the Hynes Convention Center.  The Embedded Systems Conference is the
place to check out the latest microcontrollers, DSPs, system design tools,
and more.  Pre-Register Online for this show at
http://www.esconline.com/boston/freepass.htm and use priority code UHVA.

Included with this confirmation is your receipt for your conference
registration fees. This receipt, along with this informational letter,
will serve as your only confirmation prior to the conference. Please refer
to the following commonly asked questions for further information:

Cancellations, Downgrades & Substitutions:
If you need to cancel, you may do so for a full refund until Friday
October 25, 2002. Attendees who register but do not cancel in writing by
the deadline date are liable and will be charged for the full registration
fee. Sorry, no refunds or letters of credit are available after this date.

Written requests for a downgraded pass must be received no later than
October 25, 2002 for a full refund on the difference of registration fees
between the value of the original and downgraded pass.  Requests received
after 10/25/2002 will receive a letter of credit for a future Software
Development Conference for the value of the pass downgraded from.  Upgrade
pass requests must be submitted in writing and faxed to (415) 947-6020
along with payment information for the difference in value.  Upgraded
passes will be charged the difference in registration fees at the time
that the request is submitted, no retroactive reduced registration fee is
permitted.

Substitutions are allowed only with the written permission of the original
registrant. Please mail your substitution request to the above address, or
fax to (415) 947-6020.

Facility Location:
The Hynes Convention Center is located adjacent to the Sheraton Boston at
900 Boylston Street.  The nearest cross street is Boylston Street.  For
further directions to the Hynes Convention Center, please call (617)
954-2000.

Advance Badge Mailing:
In late October, badges will be mailed to all conference registrants who
pre-registered by October 25, 2002.  Expo Only badges will only be mailed
to registrants from the following states: MA, CT, NH, RI and VT, provided
that the registration is received on or prior to 10/25/2002.  Badges for
those who pre-register after 10/25/2002, whether conference or expo passes
or whose state is not listed, must collect their badges on-site.

Age Limit:
Due to safety concerns, no one under the age of 18 (including infants in
strollers) will be permitted on the expo floor at any time during the SD
Conference & Expo.

Taxpayer ID Number:
The tax ID number for the Software Development 2002 East Conference is
11-2240940.  Please fax your W-9 requests to Mandy Law at (415) 947-6076.

Tutorial Notes & Conference Proceedings:
All conference registrants will receive proceedings on-site, in a CD-ROM
format as well as access to the SD Online Library in advance of the event.

Duplicate Catalogs & Removal from Mailing List: If you’re receiving
duplicate copies of our conference brochure, please enclose the address
area from each duplicate conference catalog you’d like to be removed from
and mail or fax to the above address.  To be removed from the mailing
list, please fax or mail your address area from your catalog with
instructions to be removed from the mailing list.

Americans with Disabilities Act:
If you require special assistance, auxiliary aids, interpreters or other
reasonable accommodations while at the conference and/or expo, please
contact Jennifer Jessup at (415) 947-6132 at least two weeks prior to the
event date.

SD, if you don't believe your courses and/or tutorials were worth your
time, you may request and receive a full refund of your registration fee.
Simply follow these easy directions: Within thirty (30) days after the
conclusion of the conference, send us a letter describing why you were
dissatisfied with the content of the conference. Mail your refund request
to: SD Registration Department, 600 Harrison Street, 2nd Floor, San
Francisco, CA 94107 or fax to (415) 947-6020. Requests received after the
30 day period will receive a letter of credit good for another CMP
Software Development Events Group conference.  CMP Media reserves the
right to make changes in the programs and speakers, or to cancel sessions
if enrollment criteria are not met or when conditions beyond its control
prevail.

Hotel & Airline Reservations:
If you have not yet made hotel arrangements, we urge you to do so
immediately.  For all reservations, please use the information at
www.sdexpo.com to make your travel and hotel arrangements or call the SD
Housing Desk at (415) 947-6661 or toll free at (866) 477-5444.

Questions and Changes:
If you have any questions about the conference program, please contact our
