I guess this would fall under "pre-enshittification" rather than just
"enshittification".

I do have to say that I lean more towards the west coast mindset here.

But, although this is not mentioned, this probably also explains
Javascript and, to some extent, Python dominating the programming language
scene.  But, may also predict that alternatives, even ones like Zig which
allows C code to be directly embedded and Carbon which allows C++ code to
be directly embedded to ultimately fail.
