It is, however, tied to your phone number.  It's difficult, or perhaps
impossible, to break this association.

If you received an email claiming that something is wrong with your Signal
app or needing to reset your Signal app or get info from your Signal app,
it is a scam, a fraud, or a phishing attack.  Ignore it.  Even with that,
it's still pretty difficult to lose your Signal handle since it's tied to
your phone number.  As long as you continue to have control over your
phone number, you should be able to get your Signal account back.
