I cannot decide whether it's sad that these sort of movies will never be
made again, or whether something even better will take its place.

Let's hope it's the latter.

In particular, I cannot ever see that making fun of minorities and the
disabled will ever be genuinely entertaining for a vast majority of
Americans.  It seems like poking at those in power will always have its
place in our society.  Or, at least, we can hope so.
