Your sonic.net account  was compromised and used by a third party to send 
SPAM through our mail servers. These people also had access to read your email 
and to all of your account information.

Please review the following tips to prevent this from occurring in the future:

   * 
    
     Do not respond to phishing or other scams.
     A phishing scam is an email that requests your username and password or 
     other sensitive information. Sonic.net will NEVER ask for your username 
     and password through email. If you follow a link in an email and are 
     prompted for your username and password, make sure the address bar 
     matches the expected website.
   * 
    
     Use up to date anti-virus software.
     It is possible that your username and password was stolen by a virus or 
     other malicious software on your computer and given to the hackers. You 
     should have up to date anti-virus software installed and scan on a 
     regular basis. If you already have something installed, you may want to 
     scan your system using a different anti-virus program.
   * 
    
     Use a secure password and practice good password security.
     Use a strong password or pass-phrase, and importantly, never use the same 
     password for different services. A strong password must be at least 8 
     characters long and should be a mix of upper and lower case letters, 
     numbers and symbols or, better yet, a pass-phrase made up of several 
     random words. Consider using a secure password vault service like 
     LastPass or 1password to make managing secure unique passwords easier.

Failure to secure your account may result in charges in accordance with the 
Sonic.net AUP .
