Interesting. I guess this is analogous to the two-body vs. three-body
problem in physics. Two-body problems are trivial to solve, but
three-bodies are difficult and often impossible. So, when you think about
two people, one person's gain can be another's loss. But, when you add a
third person or more, it gets much more complex and it can be difficult to
decide who is actually winning or losing.
