Thanks for this article.  It is indeed fascinating how department stores
were and service employees in general are so mixed up with class
relations.  I wonder how relations will change when you never see the
person who delivers your toilet paper or dinner, and only interact with an
app or a web site?

The nightmare story about flying makes me think that driving will be a
better option than taking a plane for a while.  Not sure what to do about
overseas travel, 'tho.

The stories about the violent anti-mask incidents against hapless workers
were disturbing.  Could all these incidents be an omen of a coming new
American Civil War?  Or, is it too early to say?
