Reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Critical_race_theory , it seems like
the theory assumes the concept of meritocracy. Not sure that that's valid
in any context, not even in this theory.
Nevertheless, supporting affirmative action is definitely a step in the
right direction, if only to demonstrate the weakness of any argument in
favor of meritocracy.
