Seems like having a positive side to disasters is infrequently talked about. Interesting about Gilligan's Island vs. Lord of the Flies. Never thought about that. This quote: ...elites perceive a threat from out-of-control and unruly âmobs,â so create a myth of social panic that shapes their actions, and they panic as a result. Elite panic reinforces an assumption that human nature is greedy and animalistic, and an upending of their social order can only lead to chaos. makes me think that this is a good excuse to not listen to single authorities which command large numbers of people. These set of articles makes me think that conducting a series of workshops for this stuff would be the most useful way to learn it. Just reading it may not stick.
