The problem is that even open source is vulnerable, as was evidenced by
the Heartbleed problem. But, something like Solarwinds, which is
obviously closed-source, there is no auditing that can be done by the
public at large.
I think the software we develop at work should be open sourced, but that
would be a lot of work that I'm not sure they'd want to put time into.
