So, it's 100% arbitrary.
Not a big surprise since there is some doubt whether Jesus existed at all.
(It's funny that the argument in
https://ehrmanblog.org/fuller-reply-to-richard-carrier/ depends upon
whether Pliny knew Jesus or not. The elder or the younger?)
