Philosophical issues of "Arrival" notwithstanding, yeah, this is a good
piece by Ted Chiang.
It brought to mind the parts in "The Man in the High Castle" when Philip
K. Dick talked about the Germans all being tall, blonde-haired, and having
a can-do spirit.
I'm surprised that he didn't mention the genetic enhancement of gills.
This played a part in the movie "Waterworld" because, after global warming
has (will?) completely melted the ice caps, some were lucky enough to get
gills to adapt to the new environment.
