They must have a built-in sump pump. I noticed a number of people on the
street had water flowing down their driveways. Maybe a number of people
on our street have built-in sump pumps. (I'd like to get a portable one,
not necessarily one that's installed since the flooding of the basement
seems to be a fairly rare occurrence.)

With your sealed rubber boots, it should be fine.
