collective bonus

I just got word that our bonus pay-out will be based on company
performance and not individual performance.

Of course, besides thinking that this is good and thinking that this is
the way it should be, I don't think money motivates people as much as the
nature of the work and their work environment.  It may even give people
the freedom to be a little riskier and entrepreneurial with their
endeavors since failure will have fewer negative reprecussions.
