You mean, you'd use google talk and just call the number?  OMG.  That is
such bullshit.

A speakerphone is not the way to go.  You just want a phone with an
earpiece connector.  Then, you can use almost anything.

In the meantime, you could use the wireless phone instead of the wired and
use your cellphone hands-free earpiece with that.  (Yes, it has a
connector.)  The sound quality isn't going to be as good, but it will last
until we can find a suitable wired phone that has an earpiece connector.
