It is deeply unfortunate that open standards have been thrown aside so
that other IM clients cannot be connected to Google Chat. There are so
many things I dislike about chrome (I'm a firefox user), including its
memory usage, that I suppose I'm condemned to suffer in [instant
messaging] silence...
