I remember playing recorder when I was in first grade (Ms Mooney) and
those red sticks that we banged together.

I remember playing with that [shitty] guitar we had (the one with nylon
strings) and playing that Boston song (More Than a Feeling).
It's hard to say why I didn't want to play an instrument, but I'm pretty
sure that some of it was due to the fact that I hated spending money (on
lessons, or buying an instrument), including other people's money. I
think this has become a little better over the years.
Actually, I wonder if Nicholas has the same problem, failing to express
himself due to financial concerns.
