I definitely wouldn't bank on federal funding. Grover Norquist (see
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grover_Norquist ) and his Republican friends
wants to shrink government and that would probably mean getting rid of
government-run parks and all other federal institutions, not to mention
Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
If he's interested in any national government job, I suggest that he write
to congress and the president every day pleading that government funding
not be cut and perhaps suggesting that the wealthy be taxed.
