This reminds me of the time I was going to meet my ex-co-worker at a
restaurant, but he never showed.  I kept sending him emails about a
follow-up lunch, but he didn't want to reply because he wanted to block
the incident out of his mind.  (He admitted later that he missed a lot of
appointments during that time.  He was unemployed then.)
