I may be able to locate a copy of the original script, but the truly polished version made calls to a server that no longer exists. 

All you really need to do is get the package list from the current stable mepis and apt-get install it, including the kernel, which will require a mid-script reboot. Awkward, but doable.

Unfortunately, I was alone in thinking that a "net-install" type of mepis installer would be a good thing, or this might be an option with Mepis as it is with Debian and Ubu...
