Last night, I was remembering 30 years ago when we had that retreat thing.
Was this a Computer Users Society event? I even forgot where it was held
and the conditions ('tho I do remember it was snowing 'cause I remember
there were snowball fights in which I did not participate).
In any case, I was remembering one of the exercises was to answer "what do
most people not know about you?" and I answered "I am Jewish". Thinking
back upon this, I regret that answer, but I am realize that asking this
question to a teenager and especially in a group setting is not fair.
Teenagers don't know how to think rationally (see
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=129150658 ) and I
don't know if any teenager would be able to answer that question is a good
way. I could have answered it super-personal (I could've said "I always
sit when I pee" or "I have never masturbated" ('though I might not have
known what masturbation was at that time) -- I guess I am really an
outlier in American society), but what I should really have said was
something that could not have been used against me in any way ("I eat
entire cucumbers in one sitting"). Of course, I only say that now that I
can think of this rationally.
Anyway[s]!
Noelle wanted me to ask you whether you'd have time to visit us down in
where-I-live since you couldn't make our parties. She suggested going to
Hunan Taste, a good local Chinese restaurant just a few blocks away from
where we live.
Thoughts?
