Possibly against my better judgment, I am now working for Macrosoft.
(Actually, I was working for a company that was taken over by Macrosoft,
so it wasn't like I willfully joined.)

(Ironically, I run no Macrosoft software at home -- just Linux and MacOS.)

The Macrosoft subsidiary that I work for works on speech recognition.
I've had an interest in that ever since I had tendinitis/carpal tunnel a
few years ago, and seemed to be a natural transition from the machine
learning work I did a few companies back.

A few months ago, we went up to TESC (I live in the Bay Area right now)
and I tried looking for you, and you were not on campus.  (One of the
people I talked to there said that you were planning on retiring -- don't
know if it's true or not.)

Brian is still teaching at  (he has tenure there) and is doing
well.  We see each other occasionally.
