This applet shows what traffic at a 4-way 6 lane intersection will look like
when we all have perfectly smart cars.  In a word: insanity!  You won't want
to watch outside the window while it's on autopilot... check it out:

Once page loads, click on 'Simulator' (in left hand column) and then 'Run'.

"Java applet simulates a perfect meshing of a 6-lane bi-directional 4 way
traffic intersection where the delay per car is about .076 seconds, compared
to ten seconds on average for a perfectly optimal stop light. Demonstrates
what could be done with AI-controlled traffic flow."
