So, here's what I think I found out. 1) Tomorrow we'll be getting our 2 week notice of dismissal. 2) Despite #1, we're still getting interviews and they'll decide whether they want to re-hire us or not. 3) The hiring issue in #3 is ambiguous because apparently the head honcho doesn't yet know what he wants and presumably doesn't have a budget. I suspect that my work will benefit (pump its stock price) from laying people off in this quarter/fiscal year, whether they end up rehiring people or not. It's a game.
