Senator Dianne Feinstein responding to your message

July 20, 2004

Mr. Robert
, Apartment 9
Hayward

Dear Mr.:

Thank you for writing to me about a woman's right to
choose and the Department of Defense Authorization (S. 2400). I
appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

In previous years, Senators Murray and Snowe have
offered amendments to the annual Department of Defense
Authorization to restore access to privately-funded abortion
services for U.S. servicewomen at overseas military health
facilities. This year, this amendment was not offered. In the past I
have voted in favor of this amendment because I believe that
women serving in the military overseas should have the same
access to health services available in the United States. Please
know that I will keep your comments in mind should this issue be
considered in the future.

Again, thank you for writing to me. If you have further
concerns, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington, DC
office at (202) 224-3841.

			Sincerely yours,

			Dianne Feinstein
			United States Senator
