I dont think you need to be afraid of his feelings.  If the idea is
worthwhile ( in your opinion) then you need an NDA.  I just dont know how
you word it, but I'm sure there are standard texts out there.  Failing
that, I could probably dredge up the electronic version of the one used by
Continuum.  People have been screwed over 'royally' by their best friends
and family.  Seems like you just have a working aquaintance with this guy.
