Yeah, I imagine. Everything is done through the parallel port. Getting
two way communication on that can be painful.

At some point, I will want a scanner. (I'd mostly like it for doing
back-ups of my paper-based appointment book.) It's just that a combo unit
seems so convenient in terms of space. Perhaps when/if I get a job, I can
afford a good combo that is faster.
