4 computers:
3 Debian GNU/Linux machines
1 is a server/development machine in my outer firewall
I run a tiny web server thttp & qmail there
I would like to continue my speech recognition project there
if I give up the job hunt
2 are machines for doing normal stuff
1 is my wife's used for mail (pine), web browsing (Netscape
7.1), and listening to audio (Realplayer)
1 is mine which runs my bots and cron jobs and has a CD
burner
1 Windows 98
I originally used it for speech recognition due to my hand
problems, but no longer use speech recognition
Also useful for looking at IE-only sites and read brain-dead
Word documents
I have an outer router (Linksys) and an inner one (also Linksys).
Everything is networked and I ssh everywhere and so no longer need my KVM
(except when I need to run GIMP to edit images). Thankfully.
I'll send a separate message with a tar ball with what I think will be a
working web site monitoring script. It has a lot of dependencies and I've
never tried giving it to anyone before.
