Comments: I was disappointed to find that there was no bicycle rack on the
7:50am 86 bus. I would like to start using this bus for commuting, but,
because there was no rack, I was unable to use it. It was my
understanding that every AC Transit bus was equipped with a bicycle rack
and able to carry a bicycle. The 86 bus this morning seemed quite full
and it was unlikely that the driver would permit me to bring my bicycle
onto the bus.
Undoubtedly, as a government agency, AC Transit is going through some
financial trouble. However, it is my feeling that by my riding the bus
rather than trekking the commute on my bicycle, I can only help to
ameliorate AC Transit's debt. The miniscule cost of installing a rack on
this particular bus would be more than made-up by the patronage of
passengers like myself who wish to bring their bicycle onto every bus
involved in their commute.
Thank you very much for your attention to this issue.
