Oh, and one more thing:
3) Too much trust in my broker. For some reason, when she said "this is a
strong deal", I believed her and signed the offer rather than examining
the numbers carefully. Also, listening to her when she recommended
that I give the buyer her phone number ('though, of course, this was
partly due to her inexperience, which is just part of the distrust).
This reminds me of the Josh Kornbluth monologue "Love & Taxes" Noelle and
I saw in Ca and how he signed everything with the little "Sign
Here" post-it notes without reading the document. He ended up paying
$80,000. Luckily, I'm paying much less :-(.
