I went to http://peoples.com and couldn't peruse your account (I'd need
your CC number, SSN number, and lots of other stuff).  According to
http://www.peoples.com/creditcards/platinum_benefits ,

* Free Travel/Accident Insurance:
  When you use your card to purchase airline, train, bus or cruise ship
  tickets, you're protected automatically with up to $1,000,000 in free
  travel/accident insurance. And when you use your People's Bank Platinum
  MasterCard to purchase tickets for your spouse and/or unmarried, dependent
  children under age 25, they'll enjoy the same coverage--free! 

I don't know if this is specifically health-related or covers merchandise
as well.

Perhaps if you get time, you could call People's and ask them about our
particular situation.
