No, I don't. The only time I've ever had to do something like that was
when I installed Linux instead :-).

If you haven't done any recent back-ups, you might look at
http://www.toms.net/rb/
It's a single floppy version of Linux that lets you poke around. You
might be able to mount your Windows partition by doing "mount /dev/hda1 /mnt"
and then copy stuff off. (It might have "mdir" and "mcopy", equivalents
to DIR and COPY in DOS; if not, you might be able to mount a formatted
floppy (probably "mount /dev/floppy /floppy" or something) and use "cp" to
copy the files).) There are also single CD versions of Linux (I think I
have one called BBC Linux; remind me to bring it up next time I see you so
you can copy it).
