--- Forwarded mail To: <staff> Date: Wed, 5 Dec 2001 10:08:19 -0800 Good Morning, . . . the business of our company will change its focus and intensity as well as organizationally. In terms of focus and intensity our company will enter the next year with a heightened drive to deliver completed products and grow the customer base. With our packaged classifier we must accelerate the cleansing of the base taxonomy and the inclusion of verticals so that we can address resellers, OEM's, our own Knowledge Appliance and corporate applications successfully. With our early release of the Knowledge Appliance aimed at preserving corporate intellectual assets we must promptly complete this application and sales must step up results and deliver customers. With IPRO we must complete the ISystem platform, Netline interim release and deliver our UV reports and Path Analysis in the next month. We simply must get closer to customers in order to fully understand and leverage the benefits. Organizationally we must take the necessary steps recognizing that not only are we growing a business in trying times, but that we must be extremely aware of our limited resources. This will create some redundancies and a change in our business profile that will require some reorganization of responsibilities. Some reporting lines will change and some positions will be eliminated across our company and our acquired company. It is unavoidable and necessary. Over the next few days those effected by these changes will be notified. While change is never easy and job eliminations are not pleasant they are clearly necessary if the business is going to realize it's potential in the next year. Looking back over the last year a lot has changed - many have worked hard toward productizing a nascent classification technology through internal development and through the acquisition of key knowledge management technology. On top of that we added a Web Analytics business. All should be commended for this effort, but you are not done! We marched down the field this year and we are now in the "red zone". But what still needs to happen is to take this progress and punch it over the goal line by closing up these promising technology strides and delivering product. Equally important is stepping up to a more aggressive sales and marketing effort that delivers results rather than just promise. I will be working with the managers through the remainder of the year and early into next year to help them to create a focus and intensity to our efforts. I know they will step up to the challenge and I am asking that all of you do the same. Regards, Ray CEO --- End of forwarded message
