I can see that.

I went to the event below -- Barry Pateman. Also, yesterday I went to
Boston Anarchists Against Militarism's Anti-War Teach-In at MIT. There
were about 20 people there. There was another teach-in on the same day at
Northeastern University, and also the Ecofeminist Conference at Boston
University. Some of the presentations were very interesting. I left
during the talk Patriarchy and War which featured Jessica Thrall of Sebate
Collective. She was arguing that women should strike back through
violence, which I found surprising. Although, perhaps I shouldn't have
been so surprised considering what the little pamphlet given out about the
teach-in which said "Most anarchists are not pacifists, although some
Christian anarchists (like Leo Tolstoy, who inspired Gandhi, who inspired
King) reject all forms of violence." This seems consistent with other
literature from this collective. In any case, I didn't stay to find out
if she thought women should take up guns to fight.

The first lecture was by someone from Alliance for a Secular and
Democratic South Asia. She showed part of the BBC special "Under the
Veil". It was fascinating. And she had a lot of facts about Afghanistan.
Later, there was a talk from someone from the IWW. He was actually kinda
dull.

I rode my bike there, but neglected to bring my headlamp. It was scary
riding my bike home -- I knew the cars couldn't see me. But, I arrived
unscathed.

I picked up couple of copies of the Slingshot Organizer at the Lucy
Parsons Center. I gave one copy to Noelle, and I'm planning to give the
other copy to Marnie (my sister).

I hope you're doing OK. On working on my solstice message. A lot has
happened this year. Of course, you'll get a copy.
