On November 2, US President George Bush signed the Department of Justice
Authorization Bill which will make extension for some types of visas
easier, allowing visa renewals without having to return to the visa
holder's country of origin. During these times of high unemployment for
IT workers (such as myself), it is irresponsible for the President to sign
such legislation. I encourage you to create a bill which will reverse
this decision, if only to highlight the senselessness of the President's
and the Department of Justice's choice. Even a small step such as this
could help IT workers throughout the United States and help decrease
unemployment rates nationwide.
Thank you for your consideration.
