Hi. I got the latest Slingshot. Thanks. I must remember to donate to the rag this year. (I also found out about the latest Slingshot coming out from Slug and Lettuce, to which I still subscribe.) That article about the NMD system was interesting. It reminded me of what Herbert Marcuse's stuff, about how the real purpose of national defense is to repress the domestic population. Also, I'm envious that you have a "Cafe Anarchista" there. Seems like a good concept. It seems that here in Boston there's a lot less interest in groups or getting together in general. I guess it's part of the culture? It seems strange. I wish I got to the Lucy Parson Center more often. A little over a month ago, I almost got there. Did I tell you that I've been participating in the last couple of Critical Mass's? Yeah. When we were riding down Mass Ave, we almost got to Columbus Ave and that's where LPC is. Re: Critical Mass. They have a couch here, too. I'm amazing that the guy can lug the couch by himself. Also, it seems kinda scary when it goes downhill :-). I've been taking the last Friday off from work to participate; I'm also trying to "catch down" to Noelle's vacation hours -- she has fewer of them and I'm trying to get mine down to hers. So, I guess the threat of Ca power-outages has passed. Been firin' up the hottub lately? Jamie O'Keefe is running for a state office as a Green Party candidate. I hope he wins, but he won't. It's kinda strange about the Green Party. Apparently, Jonathan Leavitt founded Green Party USA which was separate from Associated States of the Green Party. Jonathan lives in Lawrence (a very diverse city that scare many whites) and founded Green Party USA when he was 19! Regardless, I find more attraction to GP USA than ASGP since it's more radical. Jonathan calls himself an anarchist who wanted to found an organization behind it. (Maybe this is what NEFAC is??) Jamie, unfortunately, is more of the ASGP bent. In fact, whenever I've gone to Green Party events, I always find myself disagreeing with most of the opinions, except when Jonathan Leavitt is there. It was reported that the world population is supposed to peak at 9 billion in 2070. I guess that's better than what was projected, but it's still 33% more people! Ugh! For next week's pro-choice rally, I'm thinking of "There're too many people. Abortion helps." as a poster. That's more confrontational than my current poster ("RU-486. U should be! Keep abortion accessible."). The Lesbian Avengers has been trying to increase participation in the pro-choice rallies. They are really cool ('though, admittedly, I get sorta uncomfortable when they start discussing various masturbation techniques :-). I hope they keep it up since I thought I was going to be the only protester left standing against these mass of Catholics in front of the Planned Parenthood. Today, I'm supposed to table for Mass NARAL at the WFNX Jass Festival at the Hatch Shell. It's only for 2 hours and I'll get to ride my bike, 'though I'm not terribly excited about the modern jazz part. Hope everything's going well with you. Sorry for not writing earlier. Take care!
