Dancers with diverse dance training (indian classical,
west african and modern) and actors present an
exciting evening of dance and theater that explores
the contemporary realities and concerns of people.

The Harbor at Haymarket: Haymarket People's Fund is
a progressive foundation located in Boston.  Since
1974
it has given away $13 million to local grassroots
group
in the New England area working for social, economic,
and
environmental change. Using boats on a river as a
visual
metaphor for social change movements, The Harbor at
Haymarket
includes pictures and the  voices of members of the
Haymarket "family", past and present.

Dance and Theater Pieces
------------------------

1. Visa: Its nowhere you want to be is an award
winning short play that takes a humorous look at the
visa lines in front of US consulates.
2. A Survival Incantation, a dance piece choreographed
by Wendy Bevines
3. The dance theater piece, Dopdi and Draupadi, is
based on a short story by a well-known Indian writer
and tribal activist Mahasweta Devi.
4. Peace by Peace Stop Nukes, Women speak and Dance
Haikus, in Atomic Age explores nuclearization and its
effects on women and environment in a powerful and
evocative way.
5. The man is innocent is a dance theater piece based
on Martin Espada's poem on Mumia Abu Jamal, the black
journalist/activist on death row.

Aparna Sindhoor is a Choreographer and Bharatanatyam
dancer whose creative dance theater productions 
Clothes  and The Incident and After have won rave
reviews.  She is the disciple of the renowned
Bharatanatyam dancer, Padmabhushan Dr. K.
Venkatalakshamma.  Aparna will be performing in
Athens, Greece in Oct 2000 for International Women
Playwrights festival.
Brian Rawson is an actor/director, musician, and
disarmament activist working with International
Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War.
Raju Sivasankaran is a playwright, dancer and a
computer scientist.  Three of his plays have won James
Baldwin Playwright Award.
