Well, Noelle and I would preferably like to be in Boston, i.e., in civilization where a car is not a prerequiste of living there (unlike most of New Hampshire). I don't know how I'm going to deal with my bike, however. Unlike the Bay Area where I could take my bike on BART, for the most part, I cannot take it on the MBTA. My current theory is that, if necessary, I'll purchase a folding bicycle which I would be able to take on the subway. Also, I'm going to have to figure out how to ride in the snow, which is difficult enough for my mountain bike and could be even more so with a folding bicycle. We'll see... > I'm sure there's quite a story behind that! Basically, in the Bay Area, Noelle was having a difficult time finding a job doing what she's studied to do (medical records). Boston was a compromise -- Noelle should be able to find a medical records job and I a computer programming job. I'd prefer to live on the outskirts and not directly in Boston, sorta like living in Berkeley as opposed to living in San Francisco. But where we live will depend ultimately upon where Noelle finds a job... See, Noelle and I have been living together for 4 years. The main issue here is that Noelle is not a vegetarian (let alone vegan). So, I will not pay for any dairy or meat or any animal-derived product. That said, she and I do eat vegan meals at home. It's only when going out to eat at a restaurant or shop for clothes that it becomes an issue. I don't want to type too much because I had developed carpal tunnel syndrome and I'd like to keep it away if possible. I installed Linux on my brother's computer and on my father's co-worker's computer. I'm also working on the LAN I set-up here in the house. The hard part is incorporating Win95 into everything :-(. I've been interviewing about once a week even though most of the companies are not that interesting. Plus, I still don't want a job yet... I'm spending quite a bit of time trying to help my girlfriend find a job, though. Although I'm living rent-free, I still would prefer to be closer to civilization, so I have an incentive to find her a job... Oh, and I got EARS speech recognition system working, though it's not well integrated yet. I'll probably be working on that. Also, I still need to get my e-mail right. I know you think I should go to qmail, but that's quite a big change for me. It seems quite different from sendmail from what I've read so far...
