Feels great to be so loved, huh? > How are you all? Well, this weekend, we're going to sign up for ZipCar and then our experiment in carlessness will begin. Tonight, I'm planning on attending the Critical Mass. It says in the forecast that it'll get down to 41F by 8PM. I hope to be back by then. At least, there won't be any precipitation. My bike still has this funny clicking when I pedal and I can't figure it out. I cleaned my chain last week; that didn't help. I cleaned the derailer mechanism last week, too, but it didn't help. I lubricated the chain yesterday; we'll see if that helps today. I think my bike is just getting old -- it's 12 years old. But, still being unemployed, I don't want to spend money to replace it just yet. I'm still looking for a job, but, amazingly, there are fewer and fewer jobs. But, my personal computer project had a big breakthrough yesterday -- I finally got the speech recognition system to correctly recognize an entire sentence. I'm psyched. There are lots of things we (a small team on the internet) can do now. Getting to my parents's home in is going to be much trickier w/o a car. And, during Thanksgiving (Day of Mourning (did I tell you that my mom found out she has Native American blood in her? I guess I'm, like, 3% Native American or something)), if I have to bring my own food (as I usually do), it'll be just that much more complex. (Bringing bags of food on public transit can be a drag.) On the other hand, my mother said that if both of my sisters don't show up, we could just go out to a restaurant instead. That would be convenient. > Later--Kathryn See ya! > -- > Open WebMail Project (http://openwebmail.org)
